Andreas Alt Pinot Noir Reserve 2012
Drink now through 2020. Decant up to 45 minutes.
100% Pinot Noir. Hand selected at the Andreas Alt Vineyards estate in the Wagram wine region of Austria.
Elegant and rich with complex structure, and fine tannins. Strawberry is the underlying theme in this bottle. Enticing fruit aromas of forest berries, ripe strawberry, and orange blossom cheerfully greet your olfactory to prepare you for that first sip. Sweet, fresh strawberry leads the way to your taste buds with a very welcome flourish of tart cherry and wild raspberry. Delicate almond marzipan notes linger with fresh strawberry for a creamy and luxurious finish you won’t want to end anytime soon.
Andreas Alt’s Pinot Noir Reserve has been aged for 2 years in new Burgundy barrels. It is fabulous to drink now and will also stand up to a few more years in the cellar for a real treat.
Serve slightly chilled at 16°C. Agreeable pairings for this fruit-forward Pinot would be patés and terrine, cold meats, Hawaiian fare, lamb kabobs, vintage Gouda, goat cheese and tropical fruits.
Andreas Alt Vineyards cellared their first bottles of wine in 2002 and haven’t looked back. The Alt Vineyards are a fairly small operation, cultivating 10-hectares and producing around 40,000 bottles of wine per year. The estate was passed down to Andreas Alt in the year 2000. The estate features cellars that are more than 300 years old, hand dug during the original establishment of the estate in 1750.
